It's a challenge for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have long been mastered.

This is the unit that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to an additional six T20 titles, and earlier maintained 1,294 days without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, those for the record chasers, are what's still available for a side that has accomplished all there is.

That it took until Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, taking back their record for the largest in the female 50-over format, is, in truth, a compliment to the pitchers that have represented Australia over five decades.

It is hard for their hitters to maintain a record if not afforded the opportunity.

Finally, the outcome of Australia conceding 330 was leader Alyssa Healy receiving an opportunity to create her newest gem.

Originally famous as the 19-year-old niece of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after Australia couldn't capture either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has seen it all through 15 successful years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup arrived three months after her debut and seven global championships have followed from 10 efforts across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was also there in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India briefly halted the run of success.

That loss "pushed us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy said this week.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the title decider and was declared player of the series. She made sure her country would not come up short.

If this latest epic knock exceeded that prior achievement can be debated.

Many contend the reasoning behind championship match pressure. Different voices suggest with the difficulty that comes when confronting a historic chase and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's clear is this ton was far harder to see coming.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 happened while she led the batting statistics, but this knock came after six matches in India since the start of last month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've been watching me in practice sessions, it has been a challenging time because I feel like my form was missing at all," said Healy.

"However when you step out on the field, your fighting spirit activate and you just lock into the contest."

Healy's fighting spirit has consistently been her major advantage - and a priceless quality in taking over from iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, dismissed by the young fast bowler in every game, but here that only provided Healy's motivation.

A single came off the bowler's initial ball and from that point the batsman was underway.

"An opportunity to go out there and face the challenge with her and simply enjoy myself in that regard, kind of motivated me," commented Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 balls - her swiftest at the global tournament - and her ton in 84 balls as she attacked short-pitched balls, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

When she was dismissed her side needed 66 more at a run-a-ball - a manageable total now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Pursuing 330 is new territory so I'm happy we have the confidence to do that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it again but, should it happen, we are confident we can succeed."

Those words will be the final thing Australia's opponents at this tournament should hear.

During the last week a belief they will triumph from any situation has grown stronger - this triumph succeeding success over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite being 76-7 at one stage.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before an encounter with traditional opponents England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final place may well be secure.

It was at that stage they exited last year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to ruptured tissue in her foot as she led her country for the first time at a major tournament.

Such is her determination, she later said she wished she had played through the pain.

But while she later admitted those fitness problems have delayed consideration of ending her career, this tournament is expected to be her concluding event as leader in one-day cricket and she is yet to win a global event as leader.

Success in India would lead her to the peak of her final mountain.
